Are there any drawbacks to using Venmo to purchase JetBlue tickets?
Just as easy as the new Venmo option – especially if you’re used to relying on the app to pay friends for group dinners, split Uber rides, and other types of payments, you’ll want to consider a few factors before considering jetBlue’s offer “Just Venmo Us!” (as the press release happily says).
For beginners, you probably won’t get all the travel points you use with your credit card the usual way.

So if you are the type of customer that aims to fully improve your points, at least for now, you may want to rethink going for the Venmo route.
Another reason to stay alert: scams.
The same week, the new feature debuted, and JetBlue passengers began sending money to Venmo accounts that users think are selling flying snacks.
But those flyers will never stand out on the popchips they ordered, because JetBlue representative is obliged to confirm with reporters“JetBlue does not accept Venmo payments to purchase on-boards such as food and beverages. Unfortunately, we have seen accounts mistakenly representing themselves as JetBlue who cheats and cheats customers.”
Remember: the new Venmo option is only available for booking flights, and is currently only a legal option through the JetBlue website and not the app.
While the airline does everything possible to identify and prevent fraudulent imitators, it is important to make sure you don’t share financial information with scammers. If putting Venmo into the mix increases your chances of getting caught in a fraudulent account prey, you may want to stick with more traditional payment methods.
