Very cool! Look at the incredible heart of this winter…

35th iteration SwedenIcehotel– Scans from 500 tons of ice and snow on the Ton River each year, opens in the Arctic Arctic village of Jukkasjärvi for winter 2024-2025.

As usual, the finished product is the result of great effort. In just 6 weeks, an international team of 76 builders, artists, lighting designers and other crew members managed to shape the value of snow and ice in 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools, entering rooms, ceremony halls (weddings and other events), a lobby, a popsicle, ice cream, chandeliers, chandeliers and original sculptures, is no longer a season.

According to the Icehotel press release, things this year are particularly challenging: warmer than November normally delays the start of construction. Fortunately, artists and builders were able to complete the project in a timely manner to welcome the first overnight guests on December 13. The frost structure will continue to be booked until April 2025.

More than twenty artists from 13 different countries have created 12 “art suites” of this year, where you can sleep in the depicted frozen scene, which among other things has caused forest creatures, huge rhinos suddenly erupting on the walls, and Sammy’s grandmother’s braided gloves.

There are also 20 standard ice rooms (Sans Artists’s facilities) and a 30-meter (98-foot) main hall decorated with handmade chandeliers of 220 ice crystals. Drop the space-themed ice beans in orbit (in the top image on this page) to drink a drink next to the life-sized astronaut sculpture (ice tronaut?) before slipping through the ice.

The inside of the ice light remains at about -5 degrees Celsius (41 degrees Fahrenheit). When bedtime, guests put a reindeer hot sleeping bag on a thick mattress with reindeer on it. If this doesn’t sound attractive, the permanent part of the hotel has heated rooms and cabins instead of being made of ice.
