U.S. State Department updates Turks and Caicos travel consultation

The U.S. State Department has Just updated It targets travel advice for Turks and Caicos, warning travelers about strict gun laws in the country. “Guns and ammunition, including bullets that are wrongly brought in carry-on baggage or luggage, are illegal,” the State Department warned. “The police strictly enforce these laws, and travelers face arrest, jail time and fines even when travelers leave.”

Several U.S. citizens have been Detained in Turkish and Caicos Used to carry ammunition. Many claim that they left vagabonds unconsciously after a hunting or shooting journey.

The State Department warned that some travelers were unable to leave the country for weeks or longer after bullets were found in luggage, and criminals faced potential 12 years or more imprisonment.

Turkish and Caicos travel consultation is currently at level 2: Practicing caution increases due to the risk of crime. The State Council noted that most crimes occurred among preparatory personnel and that police “may have limited investigative resources.”
