Over the past few decades, major engineering and communication advances have transformed domestic and international land. These innovations make the process safer, easier, and more closely linked than ever before, thus facilitating the ability to work remotely from vehicles anywhere on Earth.
Factory land vehicles
OEMs have embraced onshore and are starting to offer adventure-ready four-wheel drive motorcycles and adventure motorcycles. Newer vehicles usually have larger tires, more powerful suspension, steel bumpers, locking differential, raised air intakes and winches. Examples like Chevrolet Bison Aev, Ineos Grenades, Toyota Trailhunter, Jeep Rubicon and Ford Tremor reset dealer expectations that are all within the warranty period. Adventure motorcycles like Ducati Desert Rally, BMW GS Adventure and Triumph Tiger Rally Professionals are impressive motorcycle products.
Starlink
SpaceX has changed what we know about remote work by delivering broadband internet to every inch of the world. For Overlander, this can provide additional income by creating content and even allow work. Starlink Connectivity can also be improved, allowing travelers to stay in touch with family or gathering support in emergencies such as illness or collapse.
Garmin Inreach
this Garmin Inreach Always a boon for remote travelers, providing two-way messaging access to the iridium satellite network to gain 100% global coverage. The unit is only a few hundred dollars, and monthly service is reasonable $12-$64 per month, depending on the service and quantity you wish to transfer. These compact communicators provide a layer of security and connections that have never been seen in this price range.
I’m in a mess
There are many related smartphone applications available, but I’m in a mess It turns out that this is the most widely adopted, respected and latest car traveler. Despite its limited mapping capabilities, offline databases of campgrounds, accommodation, fuel, repair shops and transit information are unparalleled. Travelers can also provide updates and new locations to help spread influence to more points of interest.
Smartphone
Smartphones have changed the use of personal devices since the first iPhone. Almost every traveler has a computer in his pocket and has accurate GPS positioning, detailed mapping, translation, currency conversion, research, email, and even high-quality cameras. These devices allow Overlander to quickly and accurately solve problems with the help of online search, call, text, SMS, MMS, WhatsApp and other tools. You can even use them as levels to ensure campers are installed for sleeping.
truck
For better or worse, the availability of all-wheel drive vans has greatly changed the onshore landscape. They are easy to drive, reasonable ability, and easy to comfort on wheels of numerous spectators. The van can be configured or modified to the owner’s joy, and with sufficient modification, it is possible to drive a remote area road with moderate difficulty. Taking AWD Sprinter as an example, another advantage is that most of these platforms are available for purchase worldwide and can be repaired and repaired in dealerships or stores in almost every country.
Small, affordable campers
One of the challenges of using small but powerful 4WD trucks used with Tacoma/Hilux (like Tacoma/Hilux) is the available payload. As a result, campers like on land habitat or GO Quick Camper (GFC) with hard-boiled roofs and tent sides exploded in popularity. These campers can be purchased for under $10,000 and weigh less than 500 pounds, making them perfect for three seasons of use and off-road capability of lighter vehicle trucks.
Facebook Groups and Forums
Over the past 20 years, the availability of online forums and Facebook groups has reinvented the onshore planning process. Now you can quickly search and ask questions about a large number of active travelers. These communities can provide immediate assistance and support to those struggling in a specific country, route guidance, or mechanical failure. This development even expanded to WhatsApp groups to allow travelers to actively travel through the region together. However, due diligence should still be considered a necessary component when using these communication channels.
Lithium battery
All of these new technologies require the power to continue operating, and Starlink consumes up to 10 amps per hour. The development and improvement of lithium batteries brings greater capacity, less weight and space to onshore campers. Lithium appliances allow travelers to distribute their payload to the home battery system, and even perform 12-volt air conditioning, induction cooking, and more. Please note that lithium batteries are already subject to more restrictions from the transport company when transporting vehicles.
e-visas
Over the past five years, the availability of e-visa has greatly improved international onshore experience. The online application and approval process enables you to apply from anywhere and download it in email, or even add it to Apple Wallet. Paper visas require going to the embassy or consulate in person or sending your passport to visa service and waiting for a few days or weeks before returning. E-VISA adoption spreads rapidly, and many African countries are promoting its use.
