Spirit Airlines will land in Savannah this summer, making Georgia City the first new destination since appearing in bankruptcy in March.

The airline focuses on adding small cities such as Columbia and Savannah, with flights to major markets on peak days of the week, such as Friday and Sunday. This is different from the past strategies that like landing in Midsize or even big cities and offer many routes with one or two daily flights on the lower fare.
