Is Lufthansa first-class worth it? 7 things I like

I recently redeemed 100,000 Air Canada aircraft points and booked a top-notch Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Houston. First Class Terminal

Lufthansa offers a separate first-class terminal that contains a first-class lounge, one of the best quality ground experiences you can find anywhere in the world.

Forgot to line up at the boarding table; a representative met me on the side of the road, called my passport and checked my luggage, processed the invisible luggage outside the site, escorted me through the private safety alley and helped me settle into this exclusive lounge.

Indoors, there is a duty-free shop, cigar lounge, an à la carte restaurant, plenty of champagne and areas to relax, work or socialize.

If you want more privacy at the Lufthansa terminal in Frankfurt, take a nap or a bubble bath.

The staff gave me the option of two small bedrooms, just like a mini hotel room. They have full size beds, fresh linen and full privacy so I can rest before my next flight.

There are also some spacious bathroom suites where I offer a famous rubber duck as a souvenir to take home after shower or soak in the bathtub.

Private Tarmac Transfer

My favorite part throughout the travel day is probably from the terminal to the plane.

I was taken downstairs to a waiting luxury car, where I went straight through a private transfer on the apron, passing some of Lufthansa’s largest planes, waiting for my flight to Houston.

Sitting in the sky queen’s nose

Although Lufthansa offers several first-class cabins of different aircraft types, the Boeing 747-8 is definitely the most unusual. Eight seats are mounted on the front of the “nose” of the lower deck and are distributed over three rows, but I recommend trying to take up one seat in row 1, and I did that a few days before departure.

No one was in front of me and I realized I was sitting in front of the pilot upstairs, so I felt like I was flying the plane. Each passenger has four windows to enjoy the view, and there are so many airlines retiring their Queen of Skyscrapers, which is a real treat for long-distance flights.
