Before the vernal equinox, nearly three weeks, fail The celebrations took over Valencia, Spain. Fires, art and traditions – especially the burning of large sculptures – are at the heart of contemporary fallas events. The origins of Las Falls date back to the Middle Ages, when spring came to burn with used wood and furniture. Adding old items and rags to the campfire gives the wooden structure a human-like appearance. The fire also paid tribute to Saint Jose, the patron saint of the carpenter guild.
These bonfires evolved into the creation of Ninots at the Las Fallas celebration center today. Ninots are huge, lifelike statues made of various materials such as wood or paper paper, often referring to culture and current events that were destroyed during Rathford. During the celebrations, Valencia performed sculptures, fireworks, light shows and burning flowers in Valencia.
Experience it: Every day, the Las Fallas event starts at 2pm to Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Fireworks displays are held every night, and the last day of the festival is when structural combustion occurs.
