Gatwic The airport has It changed its bases on liquids and laptops in securityJust in time to Easter Holidays.
Passengers will not need to place their fluids in a transparent plastic bag or remove electronics, such as laptops, from their security bags.
This is due to the new airport scanners described by the heads of Gatwick as “advanced technology”.
The airport’s light scanners are 6060 CTIX CT scanners, designed by Smits Detection, and is expected to cut off security times.
Environmental scanners use X -ray technology to create a three -dimensional display of the contents of the bag. Security personnel then can tilt, enhance and rotate images to find out what is inside, which removes the need for fluid and electronics passengers from their bag.
The airports have already used this technology to wipe the luggage for some time, but the first scanners were very large for passenger areas.
Travelers will still need to keep a 100 ml rule in hand luggage and make sure that all fluids are among the requirements.
However, passengers in many other main airports in the UK, will still need to follow the old rules.
