This unique vehicle comes with four tracks instead of wheels and can be used to handle snow-covered terrain and climb up to 4,200 feet. About two-thirds of the way to the top of the mountain, you’ll walk out to experience the extreme weather of Mount Washington (100 miles per hour) and enjoy breathtaking views. If the conditions are too strong, the heated snow hand is always only a few steps away.
After your mountain adventure, swing Great Glen Trail Outdoor Center To pick up ski gears and trail passes before taking the classic New England winter experience – cross-country skiing. There are 28 miles of trails around scenic forests, and neat routes meet all skill levels. If you can, try bringing it to a warm cabin for a good rest and sweeping the mountain views.
Limit your day at Notch Grille’s well-deserved dinner. And, since you already have your appetite, don’t skip desserts – seasonal snacks are made with local ingredients, such as maple syrup, which is the ideal way to end your winter day in Gorham.
Sunday
Start your morning with a relaxing swim in the heated indoor saltwater pool at Glen House, which overlooks the snowy mountains. Then, pick up free coffee or tea from the lobby and taste it in the outdoor stove for a peaceful start to the day. After a quick breakfast at Notch Grille, check out and take your final adventure on the slopes along the short drive along the road leading to Wildcat Mountain.
