It was initially scheduled to start my trip to Miami from Budapest, with a stop in London, where the ticket was less than 200 euros cheaper than flying directly than Belgrade. My plan was to reach Budapest with a small bus or a bus, but as I was about to book my ticket, the mobile phone player sent me a sudden offer – a discount on the Serbian flight to Budapest. I thought about myself, “This is a sign!” And reserve a ticket in one direction for 50 euros. And like this, my adventure started!
I bought a back and forth ticket from Budapest to MIAMI with British Airways for 470 euros at the end of November during the “Fall Cleaning” sale on February 16. My first trip, from Belgrade to Budapest, was on February 15 – one day before a trip via the Atlantic – just to be on the safe side in the event of any occurrence. This also means that I was stayed overnight in Budapest.
Serbia flight: Belgrade – Budapest (Ju142, ATR 72)
Online check-in on, and at the airport, I was directed to the new electronic gates for the Serbian passports-a great experience, despite the survey, there is still a police officer who examines and sealing my passport.
The flight was operated by ATR 72, Yu-ESA registration, and the climb was from the C10E gate, followed by a short journey for the bus to the plane. The portable bags were left on the plane door and moved in the same way when landing in Budapest.
The plane was not full, but more than half of the seats were occupied. I had a 16F seat with an empty seat next to me (always win!). The trip was short and enjoyable, the crew was friendly, and the service was simple – water and square biscuit.
Upon landing in Budapest, controlling the passport was breeze without any questions. She immediately jumped on the 100E airport bus to the city center. There are ticket machines for expatriates where you can buy a ticket using a card – fast and easy. I also bought my return ticket for the next day airport flight.
I had planned to wander around Budapest, but … frozen temperatures, strong winds, and I wear my clothes for my mimmy? Bad mix! Instead, I decided to rest for the next big travel day.
British Airways flight: Budapest – London (Ba869, Airbus A319)
The next morning, I arrived at the airport three hours before the departure. Although I tried to log on online, the system in the end told me that I had to check the table – perhaps because of the passport of my Serbian travel.
Side note: From the moment I bought my ticket, I had great concern – did I need a London transit visa?
Traveling agencies called – they didn’t know. British Airways? Their office in Belgrade is no longer present, and the phone number is listed on the Internet as their contact now to a private person who is frustrated from all the calls you get. The British embassy in Belgrade? “Check online with immigration services.” Finally, I found official information – if you are carrying the United States, New Zealand, Canadian visa, or Australian and staying in the crossing area of the airport, you will not need a transit visa. Otherwise, you are doing.
At Budapest Airport, I have registered access to all of my flights – to London and to Al -Yammi. The passport and security monitoring was fast, and I left my journey from the B6 gate.
The 18-year-old Airbus A319 was, but it was preserved inside. My seat, 22f, was another empty seat next to me – another “Yay!” A moment. 😄
We quit on time, during the trip, we received free chocolate biscuits and water – similar to Air Serbia on shorter flights. I liked British Airways providing a wide range of food and drinks for purchase compared to the Serbian air.
The trip was soft, although we organized two patterns before landing in London. On all British trips, I had Wi-Fi for a free correspondence (if you are a member of the executive club, you can activate for free).
London Heathrow – Station 3 to Station 5
It fell in London, a city that I love completely – and of course, it was sunny again! 😊 It was my next trip from Station 5, while we reached station 3.
I followed the purple “flights” signs, took the free shuttle bus to T5, went through another security examination, then took a train to Gates C. Even with a two -hour stop, I felt that I was constantly rushing. I got to my gate in time to call the final ascension!
British Airways flight: London – Miami (Ba209, Airbus A380)
When I got to the Gate C57, I stopped temporarily for a moment to enjoy the A380 – the plane that I will fly for the first time! I was excited.
Seat choice: 40 kg (window seat, lower deck). Why the lower surface? On the upper deck, the window seat costs an additional 70 euros, which felt a little slope, while this seat was “only” 30 euros.
The plane, G -XLED, was 12 years old – majestic from the outside, but showed signs of wearing from the inside. The USB charger did not succeed, there were no power outlets, the entertainment screen was slow, and the headphones were already opened – not exactly a luxurious feeling. However, spaciousness and huge windows are formed for that!
The journey lasted for 10 hours, and here we used to serve: pastries and drink immediately after taking off, and the main mashed potatoes with beef, salad, bread, cheese and candy. Drinks were available throughout the journey and a light meal before trading-pastries filled with chicken with a cold drink at the end.
The crew was great, and flying on this giant was an unforgettable experience! The approach was in Miami, which was flying over Miami Beach and the city center, to take breath.
We landed in Miami around 7:30 pm local time, which represents the end of my successful journey.
Final ideas
Generally, great experience! British Airways is definitely a recommendation, and I did not personally have negative experiences with Serbia also – I use it several times a year, and I hope you remain this way.
As for the A380, this is a plane that everyone must experience at least once in their lives!
