The Federal Aviation Administration issued an emergency order to calm the operators of the Bell 206 helicopter that crashed last week in the Hudson River outside New York City, killing all the six people on board.
The helicopter was played by New York Helicopter Inc. It is a 135 operation that provides air tours for the New York and New Jersey regions.
The accident took place on Thursday afternoon, April 10, when a trip from the Bell 206L-4 Longranger (N216MH) took off on a trip to see the city’s landmarks with a pilot and five passengers.
Multiple videos of the accident were distributed on social media and shared by the media. It appears that the views of multiple angles show the upper roundabout that separates the plane during its height. It seems that the helicopter falls over the water, then the cabin hit the inverted water. The respondents were in emergency cases from New York and New Jersey at the scene of the accident immediately, but the accident was not alive.
According to FAA’s emergency order, the agency takes this procedure partially because it appears that the company manager, Jason Costilo, was launched after flights voluntarily closed.
On April 13, 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration by phone requested Mr. Jason Costilo, Operations Manager [New York] A helicopter, that [New York] Mr. Costilo wrote via email to the Angolan Armed Forces, “Applications have been completed” 30 minutes after a phone call above, about 30 minutes after a phone call above, Mr. Costilo confirmed via email to FAA on this [New York] The helicopter will stop the operations until the above reference investigations are completed. Sixteen minutes after the above email, Mr. Michael Roth, CEO [New York] A helicopter, the email was contacted to FAA below: Mr. Ruth was not allowed to stop the operations through [New York] He is no longer a helicopter, and Mr. Costilo, who sent the above -mentioned communication, is an employee [New York] helicopter. The immediate shooting of the Operations Manager raises fears related to dangerous safety because it seems that Mr. Roth took revenge on Mr. Costilo to make the safety decision to stop the operations during the investigations. “
The arrangement continues with the launch of Costello. “[New York] The helicopter does not have a qualified person working as the director of operations. “
As a result, the New York 14 CFR § 119.69 (1) (1) helicopter (1), which stipulates the following: “Each holder must have a qualified administrative certificate and technical staff to ensure the safety of its operations. With the exception of the certificate holder using only one pilot in his operations, the certificate holder must have qualified employees in the following sites or managers of operations.
“The Acting Director of FAA may be for all 49 USC § 44709 (B) (1) (a) to issue an amendment, amendment, suspension or cancellation of any part of a certificate issued under 49 USC Chapter 447 Chapter 447 of the representation that requires general procedures after conducting the procedures or general procedures.
It also states that the FAA official, Chris Roshilo, “has decided that there is a reasonable basis to ask whether the NY helicopter possesses the necessary qualifications to retain the airport certificate and that safety in air trade or air transport, and the public interest requires excessive suspension mentioned to more proof that requires excessive proof that there is a need to excessive avoiding reference procedures. Safety in aircraft or air transport.
The Federal Aviation Administration has started a comprehensive review of the company’s operations known as CheP. The review will focus on the operator’s compliance with safety and safety practices, risks, risks, policies and procedures to alleviate this.
The National Transport Safety Council (NTSB) is investigating the accident. A preliminary report should be available within 10 days.
