Many Citi Strata Premier Cardholders today receive e -Mel show that the redemption of cash back their gratitude will be reduced from 1 cent per point to 0.75 cents per point. This change came into effect on August 24, 2025.
It is a slap to one of the The best travel reward card out there, but maybe the effect may be limited to many cardholders who prefer to move their eyes to the thank you program flight partner and hotel transfer partner.
E -mel
Interesting enough, it seems as if not all Prime Minister’s card holders accept e -mel. Some other tpgers and I don’t, but senior editorial director Nick ewen Receive e -mel. This is what he says.
This comes as a surprise, but not the first we see in the end, such as Citi Dropped Emirates Skywards Transfer Points Last month.
Other Citi card holder, including those who returned in cash such as Double Cash® Citi CardIt does not seem to accept e -mel.
Strange to see, given that double cash is marketed as income twice Cash back. That’s because it is marketed as an income of up to 2% on each purchase with unlimited 1% cash when you purchase, plus an additional 1% when you pay for the purchase. If the eyes arrive -it is worth 1 cent each, then the card value proposition is completely changed. No clue will happen.

Currently, the cash redemption option for some Citi Strata premier cardholders has decreased by 25%, from redeeming their gratitude for returning cash at 1 cent per 0.75 cents each.
However, you can consistently get better value than your Thankyou Citi points by moving them to many airlines and hotel partners, including Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Singapore Airlines Krisflyer and Wyndham Rewards, among others.

Based on crowdsourced data on the TPG team, it seems like a Cash-Back Citi Cardholder associated with Citi Strata Premier is the only affected. For now.
If you prefer to use your thankyou citi points for cash or do so based on case by case, carrying cards like Citi Double Cash may make sense in the long run, given this change. Without it, make the cash redemption you want with your Thankyou Citi by the end of August.
Bottom Line
This development is a significant weakness for those who prefer to redeem their gratitude for returning cash. Even if you do not receive an e -Mel that details these changes, be sure to check your Citi account during login so you do not miss any announcements.
So far, however, this is another decrease in hitting Citi Strata Premier, and I can’t help but wonder if this is Citi’s way to set up their ‘strata’ card line for Card to come or repair of their existing cash card line.
