
I love writing about the long -term economy. Mostly, because the ruling is due to a direct question: Does the product feel that it is an economy with a little additional, or is more like businessmen? The seats in the first category do enough to remove the pain from the Coach Class Space Crunch. Which, in order to be fair, is what the excellent economy was designed to do. But the seats in that second category are joyful, enough so that you can get out of your way to fly.
We put the long -term Cathai Pacific economy on this test over two trips on the Airbus A350 sub -. These aircraft are able to deal with some long -term roads. In our case, between a trip from New York to Hong Kong and then contact with Sydney, we spent more than 25 hours on board.

Cathy Pacific Excited to start receiving A350-1000 delivery again in 2018And airlines are still enthusiastic about the plane. There are some specific design features that expand -1000 exceeding what A350-900 airlines can deal with.

Katai has about 777-9s on request as well, but they will not join the fleet for a year or two.
The excellent economy cabin has an area of 32 passengers, in the form of four rows of 2-4-2 oxides. On A350-900, passengers have to return to bathrooms in the economy. But on -1000, the cabin has a custom LAV.

There are fewer passengers in each row here compared to the normal economy, and an additional space is divided between the remaining eight seats. It is sufficient to allow the elbow room significantly, with a broader armrest between the seats.

The A350-1000 only started joining the fleet five years ago, so the cabin still looks new.

These seats feature a 12 -inch screen, larger inch of screens on the 777 fleet. The rear seat also has a tablet, a coat hook, and a large literature pocket.

The crew came with welcome drinks in real glass utensils – a touch of business category.

It’s time to eat

After taking off, the crew started a round of drinks before starting lunch. Everything was great, and real dishes were excessive, although the paper cups and the same food same felt near the ordinary economy.

The cabin lighting placed a comfortable mood for the middle of the trip.

Perhaps it was a coincidence, but the roof colors here match what is going on outside.

Pass time
In addition to these large, bright and high -precision screens that I mentioned earlier, every distinguished economic passenger got a pair of noise canceling headphones. The Inflight Entertainment Library had a lot of options to spend time with.

Next to the seat was a remote control (although the screen was also a touch screen) and some buttons to control the different parts of the seat.

This leads me to the best part of the Cathay Cattle for the long economy: tension. This seat is significantly due to most of the distinguished economic seats in most airlines, which has been announced nine inches compared to an average of 6-8 inches on most other airlines. To get some additional comfort, there is a leg Musnad and a swinging foot from the bottom.

People who can get a full night sleep were often seated. I am not one of them. But this was sufficiently backward for me to sleep comfortably and not stopping for half a 14 -hour trip. I woke up, I feel wonderful. The quiet cabin in the A350 helped and stabilize the wing box as well.

To be fair, like this is a double -edged sword. If the person in front of you glows along the way, he eats a lot in your personal space. Personally, I am pleased to accept the comparison, as you can always determine your own seat to restore the space I lost.
The comfort group came with a toothbrush, toothpaste, sleep mask and a pair of socks.

While I loved the seat in general, there were a few hiccups. Nobody succeeded in the USB ports and the tablet did not succeed at the bottom of the screen (a great idea) – from the amazing seats on a relatively new plane.
In the middle of the trip there was a second meal service.

There is also a Dine-ON-DeMand menu among the main meal services. The cup truly hit the pasta at the end of a long journey.

The conclusion of the trip
On the way back to the Earth level, we got some beautiful views of the mountains from Hong Kong International Airport. A350S comes in Cathai with nose and tail cameras, and we both use them well during approach and landing:
Ruling
It is a long journey between New York and Hong Kong, but the time he was frankly flying in the excellent A350 economy in Cathy. The service got some Lite points in business degree, with real ceramic dishes and sparkling wine with real glass utensils while ascending. The food itself was slight Petsi. The entertainment system was excellent, as a solid library was delivered on a large, impressive screen. The sleeping experience was amazing, around good chair seats.

The guidance from New York to Sydney via Hong Kong included 25 hours trip. I had another shorter track option, but in the end, I felt an additional distance to fly the Cathai’s excellent economy deserved it completely.
