Can you take off another plane on the runway?


Have you ever been cleansed to take off with another plane on the runway? How do you deal with this scenario?

Tower cleared my plane to take off on Runway 35l in XXX without delay in landing. When I rolled my plane to the runway midfield, I noticed another plane coming out of the runway that was not wiped. I inquired from the tower before starting to take off to ask if the plane has cleared the runway, and Tower commanded me to ignore and start a roll. I decided to thwart the takeoff. Just a few seconds, the other plane was on the taxi corridor. The tower returned me to take off and began naturally.

It is called “expected separation”

According to FAA JO 7110.65 (3-9-5), which you can think of as a “book of rules” for air traffic control units, “The removal of the boot does not need to block it until there is a specific chapter if there is a reasonable guarantee, it will be present when the plane begins to take off.”

Based on their experience, if the tower control unit believes that the previous plane will wipe the runway, the planes can be wiped waiting for the departure.

We got this clearance ourselves, whether with aircraft or taxi landing off the runway, as well as the planes that fly in front of us.

If you refuse to take off …

Keep in mind that the expected chapter does not guarantee that the plane in front of you will come out of the runway. If something happens to the plane in front of you, they may need to stop.

Pay attention to the traffic around you, and make sure to wipe the runway when the take off menu starts. And if you have a question ever, or that something does not feel “right”, ask ATC.

If you need to thwart your take -off due to traffic in front of you, remember the basic rules. The general procedure for the rejected take -off is simple: inactivity, power, maintenance of directional control, maximum braking.

However, keep in mind that you must always follow the procedure recommended by the aircraft manufacturer.

There are some things that you should take into account when performing the “maximum necessary braking”. If you take off on a runway with thousands of the remaining feet, you may not need the brake firmly and you refuse to take off. With aerodynamic braking, you may not really need to use brakes at all. Just use adequate braking procedure to stop the plane safely before the end of the runway.
