An American YouTuber was arrested after he allegedly tried to contact the people of Sentinele, the most remote tribe in the world.
On March 29, Mykhailo Viktorovch Polykakov made an illegal trip to North Sentinel Island. The goal is to contact Sentinelese, a tribe that has not been contacted by humans for thousands of years.
Reports have just come out of India that Polyakov made it to North Sentinel Island in a small boat. Although Polyakov tried to get the attention of the Sentinele by blowing the pier, it seems that no one came to see who the man was on the island. When no relationship was made, Polyakov said he left some coconuts and a diet On Manhattan -sized island for Sentinel to enjoy. Polyakov also took a sand sample from the island to prove he set foot on the island.
Before Polyakov left the North Sentinel Island, he made a GoPro video of his visit.

This is Polyakov’s third attempt to reach the island. The first attempt was thwarted in October 2024 when the hotel staff stopped it. The second was in January 2025, and the last attempt was successful.
It was not until Polyakov returned from North Sentinel Island that local fishermen saw it. Fishermen reported Polyakov, and America was arrested two days later.
Polyakov remains in detention, according to Cnn. At this time, it is unclear if he has maintained a lawyer. According to the US State Department, they realized that there was an American in prison in India but would not comment again.
