A new report suggests that the air freight industry faces a talent crisis


New research has revealed an imminent talent crisis in the air freight sector, where 59 % of workers are considering leaving the industry.

The results come from an exclusive survey conducted New flight businessS (ABN), in partnership with IBS Software, reveals the facts of an industry facing increasing challenges in maintaining talents and workforce sharing.

The main frustrations of the respondents include the technology that is outdated and an unexpected work environment driven by global instability.

Technology updating is very important for workers, as 63 % of respondents said that access to the best data will improve efficiency and job satisfaction. However, the lack of skilled employees is a major operating challenge, while emphasizing the need for training and compensation.

Despite the challenges, approximately half of the respondents (49 %) were withdrawn to the cargo shipping through a passion for aviation, and 68 % still find their roles exciting. However, the welfare of the workforce is still a concern, with 26 % of fatigue, 22 % see limited professional growth, and 16 % feel less than its value.

Craig Waters, Editor Air Cargo Management In ABN, he said: “It is not a secret that the air cargo industry is under pressure; with changing global policies, economic certainty and increasing talent lack, the operations are difficult. To stay competitive, air cargo needs to reset.

“We wanted to discover from the air freight professionals, what’s their biggest fears. Where are the frustrations lie? What are their most important concerns?

“With the growth of demand for speed, transparency and efficiency, air cargo companies do not need modern digital solutions that can only simplify the workflow, reduce costs and improve the reliability of the total service, but also need to invest in people who can push the industry forward.

“The results of our survey make interesting reading, indicating that those companies that want to develop will flourish, while those who resist the risk.”

“Business leaders in the air charging industry should be aware of the technology that is outdated in the frustrations that are outdated for non -satisfied employees and influence the wider organization,” said Radhesh Menon, the head of the producer, goods and logistics services at IBS Software.

“Our research shows that 39 % of the air freight workers themselves determine the lack of talent as a basic issue for their company. Without an enthusiastic and satisfied workforce, the Air Cargo operating capacity depends on employees who are interested in heat,” Menon added.
