Leggings are one of the most common clothes in flight due to their comfort and stretching.
But doctors have now warned airline passengers that they may want to rethink their clothing choices while flying.
Dr. Hugh Pabarue, a physician and venous expert at the Metro Venous Center, told Huffington Post:’The clothes we wear during flight can greatly affect our cycle.
For example, tight clothing is not recommended.
Wearing leggings and other restrictive outfits, such as skinny jeans that are too tight, can reduce the ability of blood to flow in and out of the legs.
“Sitting for a long time, especially on a plane, can cause blood to gather in the legs, thereby increasing the risk of deep vein thrombosis, which is a serious medical condition in which blood clots form deep veins in the legs.
“Working clothes that are too tight can cause compartment syndrome or Meragia language disorders, which can lead to numbness, tingling and severe leg pain.”
While not all leggings are as tight as some people, Dr. Hugh recommends that it is best to avoid clothing or skinny jeans as a general rule.

Doctors are now warning you that if you are a fan of flying wearing leggings and skinny jeans, you may want to rethink your clothing choices
This is especially true if your pants are tightly slim on the waist, thighs and ankles – you are most likely to expand in flight.
Lymph drainage expert Lara Henderson also advises not to wear panties on flights because it affects the lymphatic system, which can drain extra fluid from the body to restore it to the blood.
She told the Huffington Post: “The culture around the leggings is great because we all wear this sporty comfortable and looks good, but with that being said, it’s not the best choice for flying
“Any kind of tight clothing affects the lymphatic system, and if we sit in a generally narrow environment and don’t move around, it will have a tourniquet effect on the lymphatic system. Therefore, in a place where one area is closer than another, it will hinder the flow of the lymphatic system.
