One couple said they plan to live on a global cruise for the next 15 years as they escaped expensive bills at home.
Lanette and Johan Canen, both cruising for six months, said they retired on the never-ending villa Vie Odyssey boat.
This tour is a luxury tour of the world in residential style, staying in 147 countries in 425 ports in 147 countries over a three and a half years – their rent guarantees their room for 15 years.
The two have lived in Hawaii For ten years, “think we were happy there” – but after they had a parade holiday they met the Odyssey and “had a crush.”
“We have a rental car business and we sold to cover our cabins,” John told Online Post.
People think we can do that, we are very rich, but it is cheaper than our rent and living expenses in Hawaii. This is for ordinary people.
The couple has an all-inclusive accommodation that includes food, drinks, wifi and a cleaner twice a week – for just £2,716 a month, the cheapest cabin option.
John claims they have been around the world before, and it is a luxury residential cruise ship for “super rich people” and you have to consider “millions of assets.” Oydseyy is a more affordable option.

For Lanette and Johan, it’s about leaving the trouble behind.
“We don’t have an exit strategy, we are all 55 years old and we don’t need anything anymore. We just want adventures and experiences. We went from owning 31 cars to not. ” John said.
“It feels great to have no responsibility – we have already done our laundry and changed the sheets twice a week.
“The service was excellent and we felt like royalty – they even bowed to us. There was no regret, I liked this lifestyle,” Lanette added.
If you are sharing a room, there is only £1,403 per person per month – the average person expects to pay rent and bills in London – but there is no luxury craft service when traveling around the world.
“With rents rising around the world, it will be a new way of life,” Lanette said.
“This is the future, especially working from home,” John added.
The couple is currently located in the Caribbean Sea and has visited 25 countries so far, including Belfast, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar and South America.
While a regular cruise ship can only stay at the port for one day, guests at Villa Vie Odyssey can explore for up to four days.

As a luxury dining buffet
Lanette and Johan once disembarked and spent two nights in a rented holiday home in Benham, Brazil because it was “really cheap”.
They also plan to get off in Mexico in May and visit their grandchildren for the first time in Arizona, USA – where they will sublease their cabin for ten days.
And it’s far from home, friends and family can even access them completely for free in their own room for 28 days.
The couple made friends on the boat who they thought were “family”: ‘The people here are so like-minded and share values, and each has a story.
“We have become a family, so you will never be alone,” John said.
So far, he added that their favorite place was the Galapagos: “We saw marine iguanas as big as seahorses as my hands.
‘We love nature and unique things. The diversity of marine life is completely different from anything in the world.
“We can go to places we have never heard of so unique and cool. They don’t lose your bucket until you’ve been there!

However, one of the disadvantages is that unpredictable weather can mean some list of bucket columns you may never see.
“We really wanted to go to Falkland Islands, but the weather was so bad that they had to close the port.
“In some ports, it is difficult for boats to source certain foods for menus and make sure everyone is happy. ”
John also said living at sea means he becomes “sea legs” when he is on land.
“Sometimes I do feel trembling, during the first few steps you always have to adjust, but that doesn’t bother me.”
But even with a few ics, the couple was not convinced to give up their new life.
“This is a small bea guy for us – we’re both crazy and we’re all doing it. Our friends and family were not surprised at all because that was who we are.
“We’re big enough to do that, but have enough hearts to do this adventure,” John said.
