How do you get to Bronx Orchard Beach?

So, how can you easily get to Orchard Beach? Well, from New York City, the easiest way to do it is to drive. From downtown Manhattan, according to the infamous traffic, it takes 30-40 minutes. Basically, you drive the FDR to I-278-E until it becomes I-95 and exit the Pelham Bay Park by 8B.
Public transportation is a bit complicated, but not impossible. Make two changes from downtown to reach Orchard Park, but there are a few options.
From the Grand Central you can transfer the Hudson train to the University Heights or the Harlem Trains to Fordham and then swap it to the BX12 bus to Westchester Ave/Bruckner Blvd and then transfer to the BX29 to City Island and walk to the beach. This takes about an hour and a half in total.
this BX12 does extend all the way to Orchard Beach Run informally between Memorial Day and Labor Day on weekends and summers. So when this starts it will always be a train and a bus from the city to the beach, which is obviously much easier!
Parking at Pelham Bay Park for $7 per car on weekdays and selling for $9 on weekends, so the price is reasonable. However, parking does fill up quickly, especially during peak season.
