The American Expedition Vehicle (AEV) has introduced a 37 -inch tire release kit for the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 ATEV edition and 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 ZR2 Bison. These kits are designed to enable the owner to upgrade from a 35-inch tire mounted on a 37-inch tire, improving off-road capabilities without affecting the integrity of the vehicle. Compared to 35 inch tires, 37 inch tires provide about one inch of additional soil release, which can help prevent obstruction under the vehicle. They offer larger contact patches for better charm on loose fields and can climb rocks and ruts more effectively. Combined with the right suspension, they can also increase the angle of breakers and departure, improving overall off -road performance on a full -size pickup truck.
Please note that AEV emphasizes that this kit is specifically designed for vehicles equipped with AEV front bumper, as the release provided by this bumper is important for the appropriateness of 37 inches. The installation process is evaluated as a challenging simple, with an estimated time of about six hours.
The 2024 edition of GMC Sierra 2500 AT4X AEV and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 ZR2 Bison are equipped with advanced suspension systems and appropriate protection features for rugged fields. However, upgrading to larger 37-inch tires can lead to issues such as tire rubs and limited wheel movements due to stock setup limitations. The AEV 37-inch tire release kit addresses these challenges by providing the necessary modifications to secure larger tires.
Each kit includes brackets, trim templates, and plastic closure that fit the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), ensuring smooth integration with factory aesthetics. For the Sierra 2500 ATEV edition, the kit also consists of a lower flare fender replacement to accommodate larger tires. On the other hand, the Fender Design of the Silverado 2500 ZR2 factory has provided sufficient release, eliminating the need for additional flare connections.
The kit is compatible with 37 × 12.50 inch tires on factory wheels and 37 × 13.50 inch tires when paired with AEV Salta XD wheels, which offers the necessary balance for proper release. Installation of kits requires small pruning of certain areas, such as front body mount and the back of the fender opening. The renovation is hidden by the closure provided, maintaining the appearance of the vehicle and enabling the configuration back to the stock if desired.
