We all want to travel more. Whether it’s vacation, career break, gap year travel, we’ve been thinking about traveling. One of the things that prevent many people from achieving this dream is money.
Save money on travel It might be an uphill battle, but travel isn’t as expensive as you think. There are many ways to save on roads and reduce your costs.
And, you don’t have to be a cheap backpacker. There are many ways to travel on your budget without sacrificing comfort.
One of the easiest ways to travel on your budget is to get to cheap places. There are many amazing places to visit and are still reasonably priced. In fact, many of them are actually Cheap Go home than daily life!
And, while you can visit dozens of cheap countries, in this post I will share what I like the best I think is the best!
1. Thailand
Although it is a very popular tourist destination, Thailand Stay relatively cheap.
Outside popular island destinations, it is easy to visit the country every day if you backpack. Hotel dormitories cost $10 per night, and if you stick to the delicious street food market, you can eat less than $10 per day for just a few dollars a day, while travel and activities cost no more than $20-30.
If you don’t want to backpack around Thailand, then you can still visit the country in your budget if you use hotel points, stick to budget accommodation, continue sticking to street food suppliers and public transport. If you do this, you will spend about $100 a day.

2. Mexico
Honestly: I was late for the game in Mexico. Until a few years ago, I finally took the time to explore the country. This country is simply incredible. Mayan ruins, amazing beaches, lush jungle, world-class food, picturesque Mizkar…I love this country.
The trick to an affordable Mexico trip is to leave the tourist area. Leaving Tulum (which is the worst place in the world anyway), the towns of Playa del Carmen, Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, and all other resorts are filled with American hotel brands and tourists.
Hotels are priced between $10-15 per night, street tacos are priced at $1 or less, other meals will get you back $5-10, beer is about $1-2, and even big sites like Chichen Itza are only $5-15.
If you don’t want to backpack, you can still have affordable access. On a mid-range budget of about $80, you can stay in a private hotel or cheap hotel, eat cheap traditional cuisine in the restaurant, visit more attractions, enjoy some drinks, and then take a taxi to stroll around.

3. Portugal
Portugal is not only one of my favorite countries in Europe, but also one of the cheapest euro zone countries. In recent years, the country has become increasingly popular with its fascinating city, amazing coastline and beautiful weather. More and more expatriates and a lively digital nomadic community.
You can come here for about $50 a day without missing out on amazing food, fun activities and delicious wines. With this budget, you will stay in the hotel dormitory, cook all your meals, limit your drinking, walk around using public transport, and stick to free activities such as free hiking and enjoying the beach.
Although popular prices are higher Lisbonyou can easily offset this by either shoulder season or winter.

4. Central America
Central America is one of the cheapest regions in the world, and almost every country has an affordable place to visit. So, I include the entire region!
In such a country El Salvador,,,,, Honduras,,,,, Nicaraguaand Guatemala You will find the best deals, budget hotel prices are around $15, meals are $3-4, same price and beer for less than a dollar.
In the “expensive” countries in the region (Belize,,,,, Panama,,,,, costa rica), you spend close to $50 a day, although you won’t want anything because street food costs less than $5 and hotel dormitories are $8-12.
For more information on the area, check out my guide Visit Central America.
5. Hungary
Hungary is an amazing, affordable country with its highlight being Budapest. I love Budapest. This is a beautiful historical city.
Hotels in Budapest start at $10 per night. Meals on the market or lots of kebabs and sandwich shops are around $5-10. Trains and buses are only a few dollars, while beer is less than $2.
Unless you go out for a drink or pay for many attractions and activities, $50 will give you plenty of space to enjoy the attractions and sounds of the country. Budapest is an excellent alternative to more popular destinations Prague or Viennafor a small portion of the cost, offers just as much fun.

6. Peru
Machu Picchu, the home of the world’s epic miracle, Peru It is one of the most popular countries in South America. I absolutely love my trip. This is a country I will return to over and over again.
During hiking Still on the trail It will definitely ruin your budget, and everyday life in Peru is affordable. If you want Peru back, I plan to make a price of $50–80 per day. Under this budget, you will stay in hotel dormitories, eat in typical wall-style restaurants and cafes, limit your drinking, take public transport and overnight buses, and have some paid activities and trips. If you are going to have a lot of parties, you will be on the higher end of this range.
And, if you do want to do some guided hikes but don’t have the money, try booking at the last minute. Usually, you can find amazing deals – including hiking deals like the Inca Trail. While you may end up spending over $50 a day, these once-in-a-lifetime experiences are worth it.

7. Vietnam
Vietnam is one of the cheapest countries Southeast Asia. From the stunning views of Sam Mountain and Ha Long Bay to the artificial art of sacred temples and pagodas to rice fields and beaches, Vietnam is amazing.
Prices are as low as $4-5, which includes free breakfast and free beer (for a limited time). Street vendors’ food costs less than $1-2, and buses across the country are very cheap. Even the activities here are cheap. Cu Chi Tunnels (the tunnel used by the Vietnamese Cong during the Vietnam War) are accessible for only $5, while the canyon for a full day is only $20.

8. India
No budget travel list, no India. India has always been a cheap place to visit, but the sharp drop in the Indian rupee in recent years has made the country even more bargaining. You can travel here for very little money, and adding a few dollars to your budget will often lead to a significant increase in luxury.
For example, on a budget of $30-45 a day, you can do typical backpackers: hotels, cheap food, sleeper trains and land buses. In the larger cities of Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore, as well as beach destinations like Goa, you can expect to spend about $45-55 a day.
But if you double it, from private guides to three- or four-star hotels to luxurious meals to in-house flights, do almost nothing. This country is usually really cheap.
9. Taiwan
Taiwan is one of the most underrated countries in Asia. It is super affordable, safe, clean, and has a lot of Things to see and do.
You can easily access Taiwan for $40-50 a day, as food and accommodation are very affordable. The hotel starts at about $10, while street food costs only a few dollars (and it’s very tasty). There are many markets, many hiking, convenient public transport and fun nightlife. No matter what you are interested in, you can find it in Taiwan. You will get a lot of value here.

By visiting some of these budget destinations, you will be able to expand your budget and make your trip financially possible.
