Phenomenal service as usual and you can’t beat the view. Booking was weird since it opens with an option to pick your seat and pay. It was not clear on how to bypass. I’m still not sure how I did!

We all enjoyed the food we had for lunch but were disappointed that the prime rib was not offered this time for lunch. We had prime rib the previous time we visited.

I usually don’t go to places like these and now that I got to try it I will be likely to go back. The happy hour seems legendary. Lunch was very beautiful and peaceful. The place makes you feel special.

My wife and I first had beer and a cocktail, which were included in the price. We then ordered dinner salad and a bowl of chowder which were both good. For the main dishes, I ordered cioppino which was excellent albeit a little salty. My wife ordered petrel sole which was a little too sour and salty but the meat was good. Overall, we like the restaurant very much and will come back again.

The food was great. The service from the waiter/server was awesome, but we were unhappy with one of the server. When we were ready to leave, one of our party asked to have a bigger box to fit the fish but came out with a tiny box with smashed fish. When we complained about how it was packaged, she gave us a dirty look. She tarnished the Moonraker’s image. Other than that we had a great experience with Moonraker. They should watch who they hire

The Saturday we went they were really busy but understaffed. We saw one table get up to pay and another get up to ask for their server so they could order. Our server didn’t come over until 20 minutes after we were seated. The coconut prawns were delicious. My partner got the seafood pasta. He said the sauce was bland but the seafood and pasta were cooked well, and the portion size was good. I had the vegetable tagine. Nice selection of vegetables, but it could have used more seasoning, say a ras-al-hanout spice mix. Would have also been better on a bed of couscous. The bananas Foster bread pudding was delicious.
We would probably go back for a sunset dinner next time. The view was great! Parking slightly difficult because it was a weekend.

Everything from start to finish was perfection. 6 of us ordered different entrees which were cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. The ocean view is unbeatable and makes for a delightful dining experience.

We initially attempted to use our travelzoo voucher on Sunday, March 31. We presented the voucher to our server when she arrived. After she read it, she told us the limit and noted that she would take it at the end after our lunch. To our surprise, another person came to our table while we waited for our check. He informed us that we could not use the voucher on that day as it was considered a holiday, i.e. it was Easter Sunday. The voucher only specified that it was not valid on holidays or holiday weekends. We did not realized that easter would be considered a holiday, besides the server should have informed us at the beginning when we presented the voucher. As we didn’t want any conflict, we decided to just use the voucher again on another visit (fortunately we still had a month left before it expired). This incident could have been avoided had the server verified in the beginning (more on her service at the bottom).

Regarding the service, it’s hit and miss. There is always a long wait time before the server initially comes over to take the order for both drinks and food. It seems that they do this so that the kitchen is not overwhelmed? But can they take the order for the drinks first? What is frustrating is that while we’re waiting, it would be great if we can get our drinks so we can at least enjoy that. I also personally prefer to drink my wine before eating. On this visit, my drink never came out until I was halfway thru my lunch. It was also difficult to flag the server; there was a person that came to clean our table and I mentioned it to her but nothing happened. We are willing to wait to eat our lunch but please bring out the drinks first!! We heard the same thing happened to the table next to us:-(

In our previous visit (the time when we couldn’t use the voucher), we never saw our server after she took our order. There are other servers that bring the food out. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a soup spoon or steak knife and had to flag someone to bring it over; we also had to flag someone to bring another drink. It was frustrating. We also saw three other tables that came after us but left before us. It was a longer wait than usual. The server only came back to ask if we wanted desert. Then when she prepared our check, that’s when we were told that we couldn’t use the voucher. UGH.

Overall, we enjoy Moonraker and the staff is nice but the service needs improvement. There are a lot of servers bringing out the food and cleaning the tables but they seem to need more servers that take the actual orders. It seems that they control what gets served; their process seems inefficient.

Gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean from the 2nd floor. Wonderful seafood dishes, as one would expect. Service was good, although sometimes a little slow. They were most accommodating for my wife in her wheelchair.

This was a great opportunity for us to celebrate our sisters 50th wedding anniversary with her husband! My only disappointment was that the waiter never even acknowledged the anniversary (until we mentioned) & I would have appreciated some small gesture of the event. Most places will at least give you a bowl of ice cream or something in celebration.

Our server wasn’t the best. The young man clearing out our plates and table was so nice and attentive and even asked if we enjoyed our food. Our server never even cracked a smile. Got our bill wrong, even though the minute we sat down I showed him our voucher and stated I would be using it, he then proceeded to just tell me everything I couldn’t order from the menu! Whaat? The voucher says you can use it for anything on the menu and when I called to confirm the reservation I asked again if the menu changes for the weekend. Needless to say, our bill had to be fixed after he presented it to me, charging me for the cocktails that are supposed to be included with this deal. I left a 30% tip (not because of him, but the rest of the staff). I frequent Moonraker during the week for HH and everyone is kind, attentive and the fool is top notch. I will continue to go, of course but wasn’t too pleased with the service we received on this visit. Will not use another voucher.
