The 6 euro coffee dessert has become the latest viral feeling in Florence, attracting a large number of tourists and creating an hour-long line outside the city’s oldest Gelateria.
The creamy drink is called Gran Cremacaffèvivoli, and is a classic Italian drink – a lens of hot espresso in a pre-refrigerated cappuccino cup and lined with four smooth vanilla ice cream on the edges.
It is sold in Vivoli, a historic ice cream shop that has passed Isela Delle Stinche and has now become an indispensable pit for tourists in Tuscany City.
The queue stretches along the street and is almost entirely composed of foreign tourists, many of whom say they have found desserts Tiktok Or Instagram.
Hundreds of videos and photos featuring the drink have attracted social media in recent weeks, pushing it to the next must-try payment.
According to the Italian news website Florence courierdozens of tourists are often seen sitting on the sidewalk outside the nearby Saint Simon Church, taking out their phones and holding cups as they enjoy the delicious food of the Virus Prine.
Although Gran CremaCaffè was added to Vivoli’s menu in 2023, it didn’t get much attention at first.
Things changed after American photographer and director Sam Youkilis recommended it in a short film he produced for the Pucci Resort 2024 fashion show.

His video also shows scenes from around the city, which helped push desserts to viral fame.
As demand surged, Vivoli opened a second location next door dedicated to the sale of Gran CremaCaffè.
The new store opened on Monday, April 7 and was immediately flooded by customers.
Patrizia Vivoli, who co-owns Gelateria with her sister Silvana, told Corriere Fiorentino: “I’m getting torn apart now because on the one hand it’s all great: we have more customers and we hire six people.
“But, on the other hand, Florence is getting less and less because they are afraid of long ice cream. If we recognize the Florence client, we will let him move on, but you can’t always recognize him. ”
The team is also considering hiring a butler to help manage the crowd, many of whom are now eating on the sidewalk outside the store.
More tourists arrive every day, and treatment continues to trend online, the sisters say they are adjusting to the attention – and English behind the counter is more English than ever.
