It’s always a happy news when airlines make it easier and cheaper for Americans to reach new destinations.
This week, Italy– NEOS-based airline announced it will soon open in the “first uninterrupted battle” between the United States and Bari puglia. (If you think of the location you imagine, draw a map of Italy and put a dot on the shore at the top of the boots.)
Besides being the main aviation portal to this Azure waters, the sturdy seaside village and Buttery Burrata, Bari is also the main starting point for the ferry Greece and Croatia. Additionally, the port city is only an hour away from the honeycombs of caves in ancient inland cities by bus Matra.
NEOS will ride Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners with 355 seats. The airline’s first season of flights booked will last from June 3 to October 15, 2025.
These flights are only once a week, leaving New York on Tuesday and returning from Italy on Wednesday. But, since the only other flight between the United States and Barry requires the only other flight to replace the plane, the convenience saved – it may be worth limiting your travel to those days.
Since the service has not started yet, we cannot try it. But we found that NEOS tickets are slightly lower than those offered by other operators, and these competitors need at least two flights.
The lowest price offered by NEOS (“Economic Promotion”) is around $486, but this is luggage without checks, so few people will actually reach this price. We found the lowest ticket category that offers you a check bag for economical relaxation, with prices around $666 in June but $526 in October.
Here are the ticket categories for NEOS in mid-August and the ticket categories included in each class.

If you pay for a single-point ticket on a NEOS flight from the United States, a 15 kg (33 lbs) item (33 lbs) or $80 to $100 per piece, a maximum of $50 to $70 for 23 kg (50 lbs).
Neos has been flying around Europe, especially around Italy for nearly 25 years, but the airline has only entered the North American market in 2021. NEOS also operates flights between Toronto and Milan, with domestic flights connecting North American travelers to a list of less-service Italian cities.
You can purchase these flights on the Neos Airlines website (www.neosair.com) or a travel consultant.
