Very nice accomodations and a friendly and professional staff. Buildings are a bit dated, but very well taken care of. On site restaurant is very good. Room decorations are a bit sparse, but rooms are clean and furnishings are more than adequate. Room rates are not inexpensive, but nothing in Carmel is inexpensive. Travelzoo was able to provide an excellent package rate for this hotel.

We had an excellent time at Quail Lodge and we appreciated the solid value . We booked a 3-night anniversary stay and upon arrival, the front desk upgraded our room. They also provided a bottle of wine, some chocolates and a nice “congratulations” note from the staff. The ambiance of Quail Lodge is wonderful. It is quiet, understated and refined. The Travelzoo package included a daily breakfast and we were not disappointed as the food, service and dining room ambiance were excellent. The lodge offers a complimentary wine hour each afternoon that we also enjoyed. Golfers will really love the caliber of the course and practice facilities. We had fun playing the 9-hole putting course that is right next to the lobby. All in all, we highly recommend Quail Lodge and we look forward to future opportunities to return.

This resort was located about 15 minutes from downtown Carmel and the beaches, but in a quiet out of town setting in Carmel Valley. The large area around the buildings was well maintained and attractive. Breakfast was great. The room was large and the bathroom had wonderful storage space for toiletries. But it is an older resort. When we first moved in, the toilet was plugged up, which apparently happens if you didn’t hold down the handle when flushing. The heating system had a very loud fan and was fairly complicated to use. It seemed to alternate from getting warm, to then blowing out cold air. Because of those issues, we probably won’t stay there again, and probably pay a little more for higher end lodging, but for the price, it’s a very nice place to stay.

This was a terrific deal. The room was awesome, grounds were impeccable, and the staff was great. The restaurant extremely classy (overlooking lagoon) with good food. The $45 breakfast credit almost covered all costs of a high-end meal for two. Easy drive into Carmel. Would definitely recommend this deal if offered again.

Quail Lodge is a wonderful place for a local staycation with my husband. They are dog friendly so we can bring our lab Sophie. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the staff is amazing, and the food at Covey Grill, especially their neighborhood night pre-fix menu is delicious.
When TravelZoo has a promotion, we book and the value is excellent. Booking through TravelZoo is so easy and love the follow-up. The Quail staff knows about TravelZoo and made sure we knew of all the benefits our booking had to offer.

We were all comfortable and enjoyed our still. Will definitely be back! Karlton, Hannah, Robert and Erin were all the staff who helped us but all the staff were wonderful. The only drawback was that we stayed on a Sunday and covey grill is only open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday. We loved the food tho. Hopefully they can be open Wednesday to Sunday!

Room was clean and bright, located with a view of the duck pond. Great coffee and morning breakfast basket to start our day. Nice warm pool on a cold cloudy day. The kids enjoyed glow in the dark 9 hole putting green. We enjoyed the restaurant on site, so great to just walk over at the end of the day. Adorable tree frogs outside croaked us to sleep.

After a long drive, we were greeted at a warm and empty lobby. The person who took us in was quite unpleasant, without a smile to share nor friendly gesture. She wasn’t rude, but it’s just so weird to think her way is okay at a resort like this one. Sadly, we later returned to get more of the same later that evening. The person who checked us out was much friendlier. Management should address this, as it seems like an easy fix. Our room was fairly large and came with a nice tub and shower. Unfortunately, the side tables weren’t cleaned well and stains from beverage was there. We also had a message light on that never turned off. Covey Grill was nice and their cuisine tasty, though we were disappointedly seated looking away from the view, though we reserved early and I let them know it was my wife’s birthday. No Happy Birthday comment ever came. That’s a first at a nicer place like this. Still, the rooms and ambience along with TravelZoo’s pricing makes it worthwhile, especially on the off nights.

A beautiful and warm hotel nestled on the lower end of Carmel Valley greets you. A relaxed seating area with fun amenities such as the putting greens that meander along the outdoor seating areas of the hotel’s rooms. A basket of tasty pastries and hot coffee delivered each morning helped to kicked us up and out to enjoy Carmel. Next time — golf!
